“I can’t imagine a person becoming a success who doesn’t give this game of life everything he’s got.”

- Walter Cronkite

Sophia started as a student journalist at Rutgers University, and had her first taste of the industry while interning at Emmy award winning production company Engel Entertainment and NBC News. While in school Sophia got her first writing position at a hyperlocal magazine in New Jersey. Her reporting efforts and subject matters were recognized by the Big 10 Network, as she received their Student Solutions Journalism Award for her reporting on social problems.

After graduating, Sophia’s first main break came when she was chosen to be the New Jersey Devil’s first official In-Game Reporter and Host.  Enthusiastic and engaging, Sophia brought life to this new role, bringing fan participation and excitement to new levels. In addition to her in-game responsibilities, Sophia also acted as the online reporter for the team, interviewing players, celebrity guests and hosting special events.

After leaving the Devil’s, Sophia ventured into promotional roles, acting as the official personality for Northeast Hooters radio and promotional ads. She would also find success featured in the Nationally televised Hooters Commercials as well as ESPN Final Four Weekend Event coverages.

In 2019, Sophia returned to her Journalism roots and worked as a Multi-media Producer and Host for News 12 New Jersey.  Continuing along that path, she has recently joined the PHL17 in Philadelphia as a Reporter for their Morning News team. She also continues to stay close to her community and tri-state area by covering events and festivals that are important to local businesses and neighborhoods.
